And why is Polecat Zonker Strip so special ?

Each hair has a blackened end section, just like the dark back on almost all baitfish.

The hair is very densely packed together and as a result it becomes semi buoyant, which produces a marvelous baitfish pattern, because when the fly is retrieved in quick short jerks, like a baitfish, the fly darts downwards and then drifts back upwards to the surface.

Add weight to the body of the fly and you produce a great sub surface baitfish.

The guard hairs make great 'tails' for nymphs and caddis.

Polecat Zonker Strip is longer than rabbit zonker. The uses of Polecat Zonker strip in fly tying have just started.
