The
normal use of Mink fur is as a nymph body, however
Talon has added to the useage range of this wonderful
material by introducing it into their Zonker range.
Now
even if you require Mink for your nymphs, and in the
past only had the standard white and dark brown to
chose from, you can now add 9 more exciting fresh
colours.
Mink
produces a great fly dubbing material, and with 11
colours the range covers almost all caddis and even
red spinner flies, the hair can be dubbed very finely,
for use with # 22's or thick and then it can be used
on larger flies like months or grass hoppers.
A
super advantage of Mink Zonker when used as a dubbing
is you can use the guard hairs as tails and the colour
matches the body perfectly.
Talon
Mink Zonker is the fastest possible way to produce
a mouse pattern , and when the hair wets up it starts
to sink slightly, just like a real mouse, and what
do big Trout, Bass and Pike think of any easy to reach
mouse, its a meal wrapped in brown fur!
And
if you haven't tried a brown mink mouse, then a pink
or salmon coloured one will amaze you. Now don't ask
me where any fish has ever seen a pink or salmon coloured
mouse, unless he's had a good night out on the town,
err, pond.
Colours
from the top down are:
Chartreuse, Pink, Salmon, Gold, Purple, Olive, Green,
Orange, Brown, Black, White, Natural.
Average
lenght of the zonker 410mm / 16inches
Average hair length 25mm / 1inch
