This is available in 12w only, length 85 feet and is the perfect solution for someone requiring a cheap D/T Sinking fly line to build a shooting head from for their 9 to 12w single handed rod.

Or as a Sinking Head for use with a 8/9, 9/10 or 10/11w Double rod for Overhead Casting or to cut down and use as a sink tip for either single or double handed rod.

Talon 2W - 4W Shooting Heads

Talon's baby Shooting Head has change everybody's thinking of what can and cannot be achieved with their little fly rods, for ever !

The 2 to 4w Shooting Head is designed to be trimmed to allow you the caster to select the correct length to suit your casting style and ideas. To match the load of your chosen fly rod.

The ideal Head length for most rods is approx.,. 3 times the rod's length for easy and smooth casting, generally. The new Talon S/Head has been supplied over length with allows you the caster to trim to suit your personal casting requirements.

A formed forward loop finishes your new Shooting Head.

From the butt section the weight is 7grains per foot. Average weight required for a 2w Head approx.,. 130 to 150grains. These figures vary from below and above the suggested figures, depending on the rod and the caster's feel of the cast.

A forward taper has been introduced to the Head to enable better presentation and to reduce dumping, this taper is approx. 4foot long.
Total head weight :175grains, approx., total head : length 29feet.

This is a slow sinking type Head, the sink rate is approx., 50mm/second - 2inches per second, however this factor can change, increase or decrease, depending upon the leader and or the fly type used.
